During periods of severe inclement weather, the
administration will respond by either delaying the opening of the
college, close the college or keep it open at normal hours.
If
the message from the media is Snow Schedule, it means: All campuses
of Hazard Community & Technical College will be operating on
a snow schedule with students reporting at 9:30 a.m. at
which time classes will resume. Employees are expected to
report to work at 9:30 a.m.
A decision regarding evening classes will be
made by 4:00 p.m. and announced then.
If the message from the media is Closed, it means: All campuses
of Hazard Community & Technical College are closed. All activities
and classes, day and night are cancelled.
These announcements will be placed
with the media outlets. In addition, the recording on the college's
phone is changed if the college is closed or on snow schedule. Dial
the local number or 800-246-7521 to hear the recording.
We do not announce that we
are open as usual so you should assume we are operating on a normal
schedule unless you hear otherwise. Besides calling to hear the
recording, you can listen for announcements on the radio and television
stations.
